Hey Everybody,
The semester is finally coming to an end and Hearts Ablaze is bringing on one last guest speaker on campus. On Wednesday, May 4 from noon to 1 p.m. in room F107 David Hall is coming to share his testimony. David is from an organization called Outpost Ministries which exists to help the sexually and relationally broken find healing and restoration through relationship with Jesus Christ. We are very excited that we are able to bring David from Outpost Ministries to ARCC to share his testomony.

THe rest of the semester we will be having our last prayer and worship meeting this coming monday May 2 from 8:30am to 9:30am in room F105 and we are also going to the Applesbee's for half off appetizers Thursday, May 5 at 9 pm for a fun time of fellowship and food! For finals week we will be having a special time of fellowship during our last normal bible study time as we are planning a mini potluck. Feel free to bring food but its not required we just would like to invite everyone for one last time to join us for a time of fellowship and celebration this academic year.

Hope to see you!

We will be hosting an event on April 14 with motivational speaker Steve Hegele starting at 4 p.m. in room G202. His lecture is titled "Times of Trials, Be Grateful". Steve is CEO of Hegele Academy and has spoken internationally including the United States. There will be treats following the event!

Our Bible Studies have been going very well this semester and we have been looking into the book of John in great depth. The small group meets every Wednesday at noon in F107. Hope to see you there!

We’ve started a Prayer and Worship time this semester. The time is spent praying for various things including personal struggles, the campus, the community and international issues as well as worship led by Scott Klasen. It is on Monday mornings at 8:30 a.m. and lasts about an hour in room F105.

Applebees fellowship time is April 7, 21, and May 5. We meet at the restaurant at 9:05 .pm. There are half priced appetizers at this time. It is a great time and place to hang out with friends, get to know people, and have a fun time!

One dollar bowling night has been fun! Every other Tuesday night we meet at Junction Bowl at 9 p.m. The shoe rental is $1 and each game is only $1. It’s a great value! (Bowling skills not required) We will be bowling April 12, 26, and May 10.

Hope you have a great month!

God bless you!

Hearts Ablaze this semester has had a lot of stuff happening over the last couple months and things are still driving forward. This semester small group is on Wednesdays from noon to 1p.m. in room F107. We are currently going through the book "Simply Christian" by N.T. Wright as we discuss topics about why do we expect justice? Why do we crave spirituality? Why are we attracted to beauty? Why are relationships often so painful? And how will the world be made right?

We are having a Hearts Ablaze Business Meeting on Thursday November 9th from 11:00am to noon in room E103 so if you are interested in knowing what the club is up to or you would like to be more involved feel free to stop by. This meeting is open to anyone that’s interested.

Also, every other Thursday night at 9p.m. we go to hearts ablaze half off appetizers at Applebee’s for just a fun time of fellowship and a time to meet new people. Our next Applebee’s night is this coming Thursday November 9th at 9p.m. Anyone is welcome, it doesn’t matter if you’re a student on campus, or if your not involved with hearts ablaze in any way.

If you would like more information about the club and events we have coming up please feel free to email hearts ablaze at [email protected]. We will try to answer your questions that you may have or keep you up to date with club activities. For club information you can also check us out on our facebook group page and ask questions on the page ,as well.

Party at Matt Nelson's house in Cambridge this Saturday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m.  There will be homemade potato soup. You don't need to bring anything, but if you want to bring something please bring something homemade (or that took some degree of personal preparation), for example, a side dish, cookies, or other dessert. Also maybe milk or other drink. We will be eating and hanging out, playing some boardgames, telephone pictionary (SO FUN), and possibly worship.

We hope this will be a good opportunity for fun and deepening relationships among college Christians.

I hope your semesters are all going well. I just wanted to send an update on our activites for Hearts Ablaze for the rest of October and looking ahead into November.

We are in need of a few participants (preferably willing) to sit at the Hearts Ablaze table during this Tuesdays, October 19th open house for the college. We'll just be handing out brochures or chatting with people who stop by. No previous experience of being at an open house is required.

The first ever club business meeting is going to be the Thursday after MEA week, October 28th, 2010. The most available and convenient time we decided is 11p-12p, in room E103, or the glass room across from the cafeteria. We will be meeting to discuss how, and on what we should spend our club's finances, as well as in what ways we can branch out in the surrounding communities of Cambridge and oncampus outreach. These are intended to be a chance for whoever is interested in being proactive, to brainstorm and share ideas.

Our next Applebee's half off appetizers night is also on Thursday, October 28th, 2010. We will be there at or around 9pm. Everyone is welcome! Bring your friends, even if not Hearts Ablaze attendees.

Finally, we are going to go bowling on Saturday, November 6th, 2010, at 6:30p at Isanti Junction Bowling Alley, in (you guessed it) Isanti. :P   ARCC students are able to pick up one free bowling round pass at the student life office with a ARCC student I.D. Again, everyone is welcome, so bring your friends! The more people the more fun!
